ELECTROMAGNETIC SPRING-APPLIED FAILSAFE SAFETY BRAKES.

9. EMA SERIES A.C. VOLTAGE SUPPLY FAIL-SAFE BRAKES : --

The fail-safe brakes type FMC/FMA… single disc and with 2 operating sides are suitable for dry operations. The FMC/FMA… brakes are suitable for assembly on electrical motors. Used on hoists, cranes, conveyors etc, or for applications where is required a safety brake.

These brakes are designed to operate either on A.C. or D.C. feeding as per customer requirement. They can also be supplied for a very wide voltage range right from 12V to 205V for D.C. and up to 720V for A.C. rated voltage.

Hence it does away with the use of rectifiers, which would have otherwise been required in the A.C. motor application using the ERD brakes. This means one less component and a very high reliability especially if the solid state electronic rectifiers are being used, which are prone to a very high rate of failure. Most of the other features are similar to the ERD series fail-safe brakes.

Main characteristics:-

Brake functions with power failure.
Release under voltage.
AC feeding or DC feeding.
AC supply (star/delta Connection).
All the wide variety of accessories and optional features available.
Torque adjustment (without brake disassembly).
Good heat dissipation.
Insulation class : 'F' (can be provided with 'H' class if desired, on request).
Assembly possible either horizontally or vertically.
